As you can tell these numbers are expecting spectacular growth, but some may think that these numbers are being way too conservative. After all, the new technologies such as string ribbon and thin film solar production are reducing the manufacturing cost dramatically. Not too mention, the price of oil has gone sky high, and this will only encourage governments around the world to help subsidize solar and other alternative energies if they expect to compete globally with the rest of the world. Climate change is also one of the most pressing issues that the world needs to deal with soon. If not we will pass a tipping point, and the damaging effects of abrupt weather changes will become irreversible.
What are your thoughts on these numbers and the future of solar power?
